Synopsis A delightful film about blind dancers featuring Jessica (aged 7) who was born without eyes and loves to perform Jazz tap and Greg, a former illustrator, who had an eye degenerative disease and lost his sight. He peforms in Country dancing competitions around the USA with his sighted partner. These stories and others are incredibly touching and inspirational.
Why, with little or no sight would one choose an art form that requires so much visual acuity? How do they learn the steps? Navigate the space? Hold their balance? What inner strength is required to dance blind? This film follows 5 dancers, amateur and professional, aged 7 to 80, as they introduce us to their world of dance. Ballet, country western, modern, ballroom and tap are all represented. We are reminded that limitations should never be placed on people that would deprive them of traits we all share: the need to connect to one's environment, to one's inner rhythm and to each other.
Close your eyes and try it. You'll never look at dance the same way again.
